Laurance began his professional career as a mechanical engineer after graduating from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science Degree. His wild imagination naturally feeds his love for mechanical design, and the combination has allowed him to secure multiple US Patents in the field of robotics. After discovering he enjoyed engineering technical writing, Laurance joined the Florida Writers Association to learn the ins and outs of the craft. He enjoys writing in several genres, but his current focus is on science fiction.
Laurance has entered several of his works into the Writers of the Future Contest, receiving multiple honorable mentions, as well as semifinalist status for his novella The Emporium, which also received first place in the unpublished novella category of the Florida Writers Association’s, 2011 Royal Palm Literary Awards. Laurance recently completed a 100,000-plus word novel titled Outpost Earth, and is currently working on a second novel called Alien Rendezvous.
